David Dowell - Senior Director
Throughout his 25 years in commercial real estate, David has held senior investment and asset management positions at large real estate private equity funds including H.I.G. Capital and The Praedium Group, and has led the acquisitions, asset management and dispositions of over $5 billion of commercial real estate across the U.S. and U.K.
David also served as a Managing Director at The Rhône Group, a 25-year-old international private equity firm with €7 billion+ of assets under management. While at Rhône he co-founded and built out the firm’s Real Estate Investment Platform and helped to launch a separate joint-venture Real Estate Investment fund co-sponsored with WeWork.
David began his career in commercial real estate with GE Capital Real Estate’s North America Ventures group, focusing on structured transactions across a broad range of assets types. He is a graduate of GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP).
David received a B.A. from Emory University, an M.A. in Quantitative Data Analysis (QMSS) from Columbia University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in real estate finance from Columbia Business School. He is a member of the Columbia Business School Real Estate Circle.
David is also the co-author of the book “How to Invest in Commercial Real Estate” – a primer and guide to institutional real estate investing.
