Inside INdiana Business: $75 Million Munitions Campus in Bloomfield Lands First Tenants

The Southern Indiana community of Bloomfield is strengthening its position as a national center for defense and advanced manufacturing with the launch of a major initiative by ACMI Properties.

Construction is set to begin later this year on the $75 million Munitions Campus, which will be located within ACMI’s 1,141-acre National Security Industrial Hub near the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division, the world’s third-largest naval installation. The project, backed by the U.S. Department of Defense, is designed to support a growing network of domestic defense firms through shared infrastructure and cutting-edge facilities.

Sixteen companies have already committed to establishing operations at the campus, representing a range of defense specialties including aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and energetics. The first phase of buildings is expected to be completed by late 2026 or early 2027.
